It's okay to take things slow and enjoy.
When Irem and I wandered in Casa del Campo, we found a nice lake area to just sit and relax. Even though I did have a lot to do, it was great to just sit back relax and enjoy the company and the view. While sitting there, I got to learn a lot about Irem and got to share a bit about myself. It was super cool learning about her culture and her country! It made me want to visit Turkey sometime! I wish I have more moments like that with people.
This last week has been a struggle of trying to start new habits and aprovechar de cada minuto. On Monday, I woke up 5 minutes before I had to leave for class and I made it
before the professor so I wasn't late. Thankfully I only had two classes because my last two classes were canceled. I went home and took a nice long nap and then I got ready to go to a salsa and bachata class like last week. It was super fun! The partners I ended up dancing with all knew what they were doing so I learned quite a bit. On Tuesday, Ryan, Natalia, and I went to Segovia (second row from the bottom)! It a gorgeous day for exploring and the city was pretty (third and fourth rows)! We spent the majority of the day just wandering around and sightseeing. It felt like something out of Snow White! On Wednesday, I relaxed a bit after class and then went out with Armana and some of her friends to watch the Real Madrid vs. Barcelona game! Our original plan was to try a local bar to watch the game, but it was full when we got there so we went to 100 Montaditos instead (second row, last picture). It ended up being the best choice because almost the entire menu was a dollar per item! It is honestly my favorite Spanish chain. Thursday was boring because I only had class. On Friday, I went to the center to meet up with Marilú for some churros and chocolate! It was super fun! Then afterward, she showed me around Malasaña, which is a hip neighborhood in Madrid! It was really cute! I loved spending time with her! In the evening, Chris came over and we made arepas for dinner. We ate very well and had a great conversation! On Saturday, I finally went grocery shopping and then went to the Carnaval parade with Chris, Natalia, and Irem! It was a super cool experience! It reminded me a lot of the Bologna Festival in Yale. Afterward, we went to the center to meet up with some of Chris's friends to watch the Real Madrid vs. Barcelona game, but the pub his friends were at was full before we got there so we ended up going to 100 Montaditos instead, again! It wasn't the cheap menu but we still got good food for a reasonable price and we had a good view of the game! After the game, we met up with Chris's friends and checked out a cute place in Malasaña (third row from the bottom, first picture). Since we had all come from Getafe, we all took the night bus back to Getafe. On Sunday, I went to El Rastro with Irem (first row, first picture), which is a giant flea market near the center. It was kind of cool but it was so crowded that we couldn't really stop at many stands. After El Rastro, we walked around Casa del Campo (first row, last picture, second row, first picture), which was really pretty! Then we went to 100 Montaditos for dinner! It was a great relaxing day. Overall, the week was a little slower than in previous weeks.
Well, the week is almost over, but I could still use prayer! This weekend I am going to Valladolid, so please pray for safe travels. I have also been feeling a bit under the weather, so please pray that I recover quickly. Additionally, I have been quite stressed with balancing school work and spending time with people. And please also keep my family in your prayers! Thank you so much for all your support and prayers!
Thank you for reading to the end! Or scrolling to the end....
If you have any ideas on how to make the website or blogs better, LET ME KNOW! I hope you have an amazing week!
Until next time!
